Pastor Ray Torrey
Pastor Ray was raised in Babylon, N.Y. (Long Island). After attending Cortland State College he taught elementary school for 20 yrs. in Waterloo, N.Y. Ray and his precious wife, Kathy, were both saved in 1980. They raised two daughters and one son and now have 16 grandchildren, all of whom fellowship at Calvary Chapel Seneca Falls. In the mid 80's Ray felt a call to the pastoral ministry, and in 1994 began three years as assistant pastor at what was then First Baptist Church of Seneca Falls. He taught in the Christian school during those years and had experience in numerous ministries, from Kids Klub and Youth to Bible teaching and nursing home ministry. Pastor Ray became the senior pastor in 1997, and Calvary Chapel Seneca Falls was established nine years later in 2006. Over the last 10 years he has also done missions work in several countries (Panama, the Philippines, Ireland and England) and taught in the Bible College at Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes.
Pastor Scott Van Kirk
Associate Pastor Scott Van Kirk has lived in Seneca Falls from the age of 10 and has been married to Peggy, a Seneca Falls native, for 40 years. They have two grown daughters. Scott was in sales and marketing for most of his career. He came to know the Lord in 1986 through the incessant witnessing of his friend, Pastor Ray Torrey. He served as Board Chairman of the Finger Lakes Christian School ministry from 1992 until he was ordained and joined the Calvary Chapel Seneca Falls ministry full-time in 2003. Pastor Scott’s chief responsibility is acting as Principal of the school, though he also does the occasional wedding and funeral. He has taught the Adult Sunday School class since 1994 and he and Peggy served as Youth Group leaders for 12 years.
Pastor Dave Vittum
Assistant Pastor Dave Vittum grew up in the Finger Lakes region (Phelps). Following college (Hamilton) and grad school (SUNY Binghamton), in 1966 he married his high school sweetheart (Jean Van Kirk) and was commissioned as an officer in the U. S. Navy submarine service. He and Jean served in the USN for twenty-seven years, retiring at the rank of captain. At age 31 Dave was saved. Following his career in the navy, he attended seminary (Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana) then he and Jean embarked on a second career as church planting missionaries in Cambodia, the Philippines, and the Central African Republic. Dave’s soul mate of 49 years was promoted to her True Home in 2015 following a courageous two year fight against cancer. Pastor Dave’s chief responsibilities at Calvary Chapel Seneca Falls are: missions; administration; finance; and teaching baptism & new believer classes.
